We've been spending all our lives, livin' in a fraudster's paradise...

Evolution Market had all the makings of a great market. Launched in January 2014 by Verto (creator and administrator of the Tor Carding Forum, the premier spot for those with an interest in fraud) and his partner Kimble, Evolution shot up in popularity and usage, in part due to the law enforcement Operation Onymous clearing its path of its major rivals. Holding its own against Silk Road 2, Evolution was beloved for its reliability (defending itself against the majority of DDoSes and rivals' attacks with creditable aplomb) and easy usability. By the end of 2014, it was a powerhouse in the Darknet.

Unfortunately, all good things come to an end. Around March 2015, the administrators announced that the market was having "technical difficulties" that necessitated them to freeze transactions on the market. This was later shown to be a cover as Verto and Kimble disappeared with US$12 million, which (although it has been eclipsed by later market exit scams) was a sizable sum for DNM admins at that time. The moderators and users on the market were devastated and confused.

Verto and Kimble are, as of 2021, still presumably living free.
